Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Welcome to Time Out! Just a short walk to the beach.... has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
