Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- To get the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning and choosing a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 3br Lockoff Condo Myrtle Beach Family Fun! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
