Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Welcome to your Luxury, Ocean View 2bed\/2Bath Condo at Myrtle Beach Resort. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
