Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Fall Deals-Newly Remodeled-Margate-Pool-Hot Tub-Lrge Balconies-Gated Community has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. text the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
