How to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Newly Remodeled-Margate-Pool\/HotTub-Lrge Balconies-Gated Community has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is best for your trip.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
