- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
