Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local shops and restaurants.

How to select the best rental:

  • Start by having your family agree to dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. ** A perfect place to get away from it all ** has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
