Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean View - Marriott's OceanWatch Villas - Upscale Resort Villa On The Beach! Spacious! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
