Strategies to get the very best vacation home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Coastal Serenity Spacious Suite 5th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
