Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. New Oceanview, Low Floor, Heated Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
