Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your family commit to dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 10th-floor oceanfront studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
