How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the bestrental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. 3rd Floor Ocean View Snowbird Friendly Studio w\/ WiFi, AC, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
