Tips and Tricks for getting the best rental home experience:
Finding the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.

Tips for your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
