Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the best rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local shops and restaurants.
Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes Site 1203 with a view to the ocean, 5bdrm\/3.5bath sleeps 12 has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
