Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • To start, have your group select a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Luxury Ocean Lake Campground Beach House has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
