Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and choose the bestvacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 15th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, WiFi, pool & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Advice for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
