Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 2BR\/2BA 15th Floor Penthouse, 10ft Ceilings -this view is out of this world!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
