Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best rental:
- To start, have your family agree to dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 2BR\/2BA 15th Floor Penthouse, 10ft Ceilings -this view is out of this world!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
