Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanview Paradise at the Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
