Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • First, have your family commit to dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanview Paradise at the Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
