Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 18th-floor ocean-view studio with beach access, pool & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is right for your group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
