Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. First Floor! View of Ocean & Pool! Convenient to many attractions! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
