Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Nice Oceanfront 1BR with Heated Pools, Coral Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
