Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To start, have your family select a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 6th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, AC & WiFi - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
