Vacation rental booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning, selecting, and booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Ground Floor State Park Pass Included Free Parking has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
