Tricks and tips to get the best vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ground Floor State Park Pass Included Free Parking has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:

- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective.
