Strategies for getting the best rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best vacation rental:

  • First, have your group decide on date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 2bed\/2bath Condo at Ocean Reef with Ocean & Pool View! Water Park access! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
