Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the rightrental:
- First, have your family decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 2br Deluxe Condo Fun in the sun on Myrtle Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
