- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. - Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
