How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the best value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Brand new! 3 bdr\/2ba Steps from waterpark has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your family.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
