Strategies to get the best vacation property experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 3 Bedroom Oceanfront Brigadune on Shore Drive has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, contact the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
