How to find the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. 3BR\/2BA home on stilts with a huge, covered deck! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
