Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- First, have your family commit to a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 3rd Floor Oceanview Room Sleeps 4 with 2 Queens has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is optimal for your group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
