Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 3rd Floor Oceanfront Room Retreat with View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
