Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental home:
- To start, have your group select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes Site MH- 199 B Campground Rd 5 Bdrm sleeps 12 has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your group.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
