Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes Site MH- 199 B Campground Rd 5 Bdrm sleeps 12 has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If not, call the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
