Strategies to get the optimal vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by having your group decide on dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 1 Bedroom Oceanfront Deluxe King Suite 6th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
During your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
