Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • First, have your family agree to the best dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 6th-floor ocean-view condo with WiFi, AC, pool & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
