Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 6th-floor ocean-view condo with WiFi, AC, pool & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
