How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean View King Suite Monterey Bay 1411 Sleeps 7 Guests has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
