Vacation rental tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 7th Floor, Studio, Magnificent Ocean Front, Bayview Resort, Myrtle Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
