Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First, have your group select vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 8th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, WiFi, pool & hot tub - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
