Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 9th-floor studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
