Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- To book the best rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the best rental home:
- Start by having your group choose vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Updated 2 Bedroom Unit with Ocean View has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
