Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Updated 2 Bedroom Unit with Ocean View has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your invoice.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
