Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- To start, have your group agree to date ranges and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Amazing Pond View condo + pool at MyrtleWoods has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
