Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
