Oceanfront property....What a view!!
As changes take place yearly at 1136 the impressive striking view has not. We continue to have comfortable seating in the room with all the windows to see out. We have part of the deck so if you choose you may sit in a shaded area instead of the sun. If it is raining you may still appreciate the fresh ocean air and not get wet. If you just need to come in and cool off a little, you do not have to leave the view behind. Almost the entire living room area walls are glass windows so you still have an unobstructed view of the ocean, up and down the beach.
The view from the main room is just as magnificant as if you were on the deck. The downstairs of the home has wood laminate floor. Carpet is left in the bedroom so you do not step out of bed onto wood floors.
The downstairs, or first floor, bedroom has a king-sized bed and there is a door leading into the bathroom from the bedroom which can be considered a ensuite. This bathroom has a full-sized clothes washer and dryer. There is also a door from the bathroom into the living area so you do not have to enter the bedroom to get to the bathroom.
There is a huge landing area at the top of the stairs with a full bathroom off of it. We have put a couch and flat screen TV here as a gaming area for those enthusiasts. Don't forget to bring your gaming systems and movies.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs all with windows on the ocean front. The enormous middle bedroom has a king-sized bed in it. The ocean front wall of this room has 3 huge windows so you have a 180 degree view of the ocean right in front of you. Go to bed at nighttime looking at the stars and watch the sun come up in the morning without getting out of bed. The second bedroom upstairs has one twin bed and one full sized, double, bed. There is a sizable closet in this room. The third bedroom upstairs has a full sized, double, bed and two twin beds. All bedrooms have T.V.s in them. All of our bedrooms are big enough for you to have plenty of room to walk around.
The ocean front deck is nice and large with comfortable swivel, rocker chairs. A table that sits six people . There is another seating area with 2 chairs and a modest table along with a couple of recliners for sunbathing. Underneath the home is a seating area with a couple of chairs, a swing, a picnic table, and both a propane gas and charcoal grilles. Also there is a constructed area for just sitting or you can bring your yard games and play at the home instead of in the street as many do. You will find when you come off of the beach, which has an entrance diagonally across from the home, you can step into an enclosed shower with both hot and cold water and a faucet for your feet if you just need to rinse the sand off.
Ocean Lakes is a incredible modest community in itself. It is run by a family with a family ambiance. You can come into the community and find everything you need without having to leave the facility. It is a 24 hour gated and security patrolled community with nearly one mile of ocean front beach.. There are many amenities inside the gates such as an outdoor Olympic sized pool with lifeguards and an indoor heated pool, three kiddie pools and a WATERPARK which is complimentary admission to Ocean Lakes guests. The waterpark has a 705 foot lazy river for everybody to savor but especially for those that do not care for the thrilling matt racing slides or curving tubes.
You will also find 8 fresh water lakes, numerous kids's playgrounds, basketball courts. horseshoes, shuffleboard, putt putt, corn toss and an arcade with more than 80 games.
This home will sleep a max. of 8 adults in four bedroom with a total of 3 twin beds for kids in a couple of the bedrooms. We do not provide linens or towels.
Because this is a family aligned community the rental of this home is intended for couples and families NOT a group of young singles. You must be 25 years of age to rent this home and must be staying there during the rental time. We do not rent for multiple weeks or extended time in winter.

Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront Beach House #1136... What a View! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
