Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to choose the best rental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Coastal Luxury
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
