Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes Site MH-191A with Lake View, 4-bedroom 3-bath with loft. Sleeps 11 has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. message the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
