Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select your dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. B316 at the Myrtle Beach Resort: Experience Coastal Bliss has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
