Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking yourvacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Beach Bound, Ocean & City Views, Kids Splash Zone Caravelle Resort Condo 701 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.
Have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
