Finding the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Beach Bound, Ocean & City Views, Kids Splash Zone Caravelle Resort Condo 701 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
