Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Good Morning Mr. Sun, Oceanfront, Sleeps 9, 2 Big Bedrooms 1-King 1-Queen 3-Twin has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.

- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
