Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beach Bum Paradise: 1 Bedroom Suite 2nd Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
