Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for local tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Beautiful Ocean View Double Suite + On-Site Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
