Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by having your family choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Beach Bums Oceanfront 14th Floor 3 Bedroom Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
