Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beach Front 2-bedroom condo with AC, WiFi in Sunny Myrtle Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
