Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by having your family select a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beachfront condo ! Ocean front ! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
